“The Messenger” is a limited edition linocut (Linoleum or relief print) This is a limited edition of 150, and all are numbered, titled and signed in pencil. I designed, carved, and individually hand-printed each one in my studio in Tacoma Washington. This is not a digital reproduction. It is an original artwork and a hand-crafted product, each print may vary ever so slightly. I spend a lot of time planning, thinking, sketching. I start with an idea that I am passionate about. This raven has some attitude! I really like the contrast of this ruffled-feathered raven with the flowing smooth architectural forms of the lamppost (which features a dragon!) I love how this one evolved, and it printed so well! I think it’s the cleanest carve I’ve ever done. I love how bold and graphic this one came out, with sharp clean edges and velvety black on white. Every impression came out perfectly. Raven is a powerful symbol of transformation in times of darkness, finding light within the darkness, introspection, courage and self-knowledge. Printed with my favorite ink Cranfield Caligo Safe Wash on the most gorgeous paper, Somerset Satin 250gsm. Somerset® is a world leading traditional printmaking paper. Mould made from 100% cotton to high archival standards. Size: Paper is 11×11 inches (28x28cm) Image is 8×8 Inches (20.3×20.3cm) They frame up nicely in 12×12 frames with mats.
